Liverpool have already chosen their next signing after Victor Munoz.

Liverpool have reportedly picked their next transfer target after stepping in on Newcastle United’s chase for Spanish winger Victor Munoz.

Even though the Osasuna star was strongly linked with Newcastle, reports on Wednesday, June 17, say Liverpool are now ready to sign the 22-year-old after activating his €40 million (£34.6 million) release clause.

Munoz, who can play on either wing and is part of Spain’s World Cup squad, is expected to sign a six-year contract with Liverpool. Club staff are currently in the US to complete his medical.

Last season, Munoz scored seven goals and provided five assists in 36 games for Osasuna, helping them finish 17th in La Liga.

At 22, he has experience in the youth teams of both Barcelona and Real Madrid and even made two senior appearances for Real Madrid.

Munoz will be the first signing under new coach Andoni Iraola, and Liverpool are now focusing on signing RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast left winger Yan Diomande.

Diomande has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while, but Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 19-year-old.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano shared on his YouTube channel that Liverpool want to bring in at least one more winger this summer, even though the Munoz deal is nearly done.

He explained, “Many Liverpool fans asked if signing Munoz means they won’t sign another winger. My answer is no. Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards are doing a great job planning signings quietly. They want to add at least one more winger.”

Romano added that Munoz was a quick and smart signing because of his big potential and a low salary at Osasuna, making it an easy deal for Liverpool to close fast.

He also mentioned that Liverpool remain interested in PSG’s Bradley Barcola, who recently scored in France’s World Cup opener. Arsenal also like Barcola but are focusing their main efforts on signing Morgan Rogers.

Romano said, “Barcola is still on Liverpool’s shortlist, but nothing is close yet. They’re watching what happens with Diomande, but Liverpool will definitely do more to strengthen their wingers.”

Barcola’s contract with PSG runs until 2028, while Diomande is tied to RB Leipzig until 2030.
