Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée calls out Joao Neves’ girlfriend after being tricked by a fake post

Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée, recently spoke up after a fake post, supposedly from Joao Neves’ girlfriend, criticized the Portugal star.

Portugal had a tough start to their 2026 World Cup journey, drawing 1-1 against DR Congo in their first match at Houston Stadium. After the game, many fans and experts pointed out that Ronaldo seemed more focused on his own achievements than the team’s success.

Thierry Henry even said, “The team needs to score, not just you.”

After the match, Joao Neves, who scored Portugal’s only goal, made a comment that stirred things up. He said Ronaldo is “just another player” on the team, here to help like everyone else.

Some Ronaldo fans took this as a jab at their captain, which led to a fake comment spreading online. The fake message, pretending to be from Neves’ girlfriend, told a fan that Ronaldo should retire because he’s selfish.

Unfortunately, Georgina Rodriguez was fooled by this fake post and defended Ronaldo, writing, “Wow! This generation is coming through strong!”

This whole situation shows how tense things seem within the Portugal squad right now, something that was clear in their World Cup opener. It’s said that even Manchester City’s Ruben Dias has tried to calm things down both privately and during a press conference.

Dias told reporters, “I don’t think the blame is on just one player. Cris is a big focus, but we’re all under pressure. This kind of thing has happened before and it’s nothing new.”

Portugal will play Uzbekistan again at Houston Stadium on Thursday, needing a win to stay in the tournament. Their last group match is against Colombia on Sunday, June 28, which will decide who finishes top of Group K.
