Ruben Amorim is really excited about another Man Utd player and wants AC Milan to sign him. They’ve already started talking about it!

AC Milan’s head coach Ruben Amorim is looking at another Manchester United player as a possible signing this summer, just days after the Italian club showed interest in Mason Mount.
Amorim, who was let go by United in January, has taken over from Massimiliano Allegri at Milan after the team finished fifth in Serie A and missed out on the Champions League. Milan say Amorim will bring a fresh and modern tactical style to the San Siro.
“I know exactly what this club means: history, pride, and amazing fans worldwide. I’m excited and proud to take on this challenge,” Amorim said when he arrived.
After a tough season, Milan is expected to be very active in the transfer market, with several players linked to the club. Earlier this month, it was reported that Milan had a chance to sign Manuel Ugarte from United, but his ACL injury at the World Cup means a summer move is unlikely.
Last week, Milan made initial contact to sign Mason Mount, who has been valued at around €25 million (£21.5m), according to journalist Daniel Speranza.
On Monday evening, news came out that Amorim is also hoping to bring in a new center-back before the new season starts. Two names have been mentioned.
One is Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon, who Amorim is really excited about, according to Antonio Vitiello. The other is Lisandro Martinez, with talks about a possible deal already underway.
Martinez missed much of last season after suffering a torn ACL in February 2025, which kept him out for 10 months. The 28-year-old joined United from Ajax in 2022 for about £57 million. He made 19 appearances last season and has been an important player for the team.
Back in December, after United beat Newcastle 1-0, Amorim praised Martinez. “He is a guy with a lot of character,” Amorim said. “He’s really good on the ball. He is used to pressure and showed today that he’s a top player.”
