CM Punk made an amazing return to WWE on Monday night, and fans were shocked by how much his body has changed.

The Second City Saint hadn’t been on WWE since he lost his world heavyweight title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. He was away for two months, and many wondered if he’d be back.

Finally, Punk surprised everyone in his hometown of Chicago, causing the Allstate Arena to erupt with excitement when he was named the surprise challenger for Sami Zayn’s WWE undisputed championship defense.

Sami Zayn had just won the WWE title at Crown Jewel and was supposed to fight the former champ Cody Rhodes in a one-on-one match on Raw. But Rhodes couldn’t compete after getting taken out by Gunther in a recent triple-threat match.

With Rhodes out, Smackdown’s General Manager Nick Aldis made sure the WWE championship match stayed on the main event card. That’s when hometown hero Punk appeared, greeted by loud cheers, and beat Zayn to claim his third WWE title.

Fans couldn’t stop talking about Punk’s return, especially how strong and fit he looks. He’s not usually known for a big physique, but at 47, he’s in the best shape of his life from hard work in the gym.

One fan said, “CM Punk is seriously jacked now. His chest muscles have muscles!” Another wrote, “He looks great! If you’re a world champ, you gotta look the part.” Others joked it looked like AI or said it’s the best he’s ever looked.

Some rumors suggested Punk stayed away from WWE due to issues, but PW Insider says he just needed a break after an exhausting 169-day championship run. Now he’s back and ready to lead Smackdown.

It’s expected Punk will face Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in Minneapolis this August. The two teased a big match earlier this year with promo battles, and insiders say a fight has been planned for a long time.

After WrestleMania, Punk told Rhodes, “You just gotta stay ready, because you never know when a championship opportunity is just gonna fall out of the sky.” Even though Punk and Rhodes have a long history, they’ve only fought twice one-on-one—and each won once. That makes their upcoming SummerSlam match even more exciting!
