John Cena surprised Shannon Sharpe by sharing a strange meditation method that involves traveling 880 miles.

John Cena surprised former NFL star Shannon Sharpe when he shared that his way of meditation is driving hundreds of miles. The WWE superstar, who has successfully moved into Hollywood, is always busy—even after retiring from wrestling last December.

The 17-time world champ has made a few WWE appearances lately but is mainly focusing on acting now. His latest movie, ‘Little Brother,’ is available on Netflix. With such a busy schedule, you might wonder how Cena relaxes when he gets some free time.

In a recent chat with Sharpe on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ show, the 49-year-old revealed he’s a big car fan. On one rare day off, he took one of his cars for an 880-mile drive in total silence.

“I love cars, so driving is my way to meditate,” Cena said. “I prefer manual stick shifts and just listen to the car. One day off, I drove all around Florida for fun—left Tampa, went to Orlando, circled the state, and after 880 miles, I thought, ‘Not bad!’”

Sharpe was surprised and asked if Cena just decided to take the trip out of the blue. Cena replied, “Yeah, I hadn’t driven or taken a trip in a while. I left at 4:30 a.m. and got home at 10:30 p.m., stopped for a few coffees at little shops I like, but never turned on the radio once.”

When asked about talking to people or using his phone, Cena said, “I chatted at the coffee shops but didn’t take any calls or texts. My phone was off in the back seat. It’s my way to relax. What I listen to? Nothing at all—just quiet.”

Recently, Cena made headlines with a new photo showing off a bald look. He had a hair transplant to cover a bald spot, which he called a “life-changing” experience after talking openly about it in November 2024.

Cena had the procedure done by Dr. Ken Anderson in Atlanta and returned for a second treatment. Sharing a photo with Dr. Anderson while sporting a shaved head, Cena wrote, “Round 2 of FUE treatment, and this time I went all in for the best results. Big thanks to @KenAndersonMD and the team for being with me on this journey!”

Dr. Anderson replied, “Always great seeing you, my friend. Your dedication has made all the difference. I’m honored to be part of your journey.”
