Harry Kane has been praised for how he handled questions after England’s win over Norway at the World Cup, especially following comments from Thomas Tuchel and Jude Bellingham.

After the game in Miami, Tuchel spoke to ITV and said he was “not happy” with the team’s performance despite the win. He admitted there were “sloppy” mistakes and said, “We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today. The result is fantastic, we’re in the last four, which is amazing. But the way we played wasn’t good enough. We need to do better.”

Shortly after, reporter Gabriel Clarke asked Bellingham about Tuchel’s comments. Bellingham defended the team, saying it was a tough game and praised his teammates for their hard work. He added, “Playing against players like Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard isn’t easy. Sometimes you have to win the hard way, and we did that tonight.”

When asked if he agreed with Tuchel that England got lucky, Bellingham chose not to comment.

Leading up to the semi-final against Argentina, some were talking about a possible tension between Tuchel and Bellingham. But Harry Kane quickly put those rumors to rest in an interview with BBC Sport. He said, “After such a tough game, Jude was asked a question just five minutes after the final whistle and probably didn’t know exactly what the manager had said. What else could he say?”

Kane added, “It’s easy to try and create drama, especially during big tournaments, but that’s not how we are. Our team is strong because we stick together — players, coaches, and staff. Sometimes things are made bigger than they really are.”

He’s honest and speaks from the heart, which we respect a lot. He’s one of the best managers in the world, and over the past two years, we’ve really come to understand and appreciate him.”
