England player ratings vs Argentina: One player gets an 8/10 despite World Cup exit

But Argentina fought back late, with Enzo Fernandez scoring a powerful equalizer just five minutes before the end. Then, Lautaro Martinez scored the winner close to the final whistle, ending England’s hopes and marking their second semi-final loss this decade.

Got his first start since Panama, playing on the right wing instead of his usual central spot. Paid back Tuchel’s trust with a perfect cross for Gordon’s goal.

Enjoyed the physical battle and even provoked Messi a bit in the first half. Didn’t quite show the usual spark he’s had since arriving in the U.S.
