Yan Diomande agrees to move to four different clubs in a surprising summer transfer story
Liverpool transfer target Yan Diamonde is said to be open to joining four big European clubs.
The Ivory Coast winger has been one of the hottest prospects this summer after an impressive season at RB Leipzig, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 in 46 games.
At just 19, Diamonde is under contract with Leipzig until 2030. Liverpool made a big offer of £86.8 million in June, but the German club turned it down. They’re hoping for over £100 million for the young star.
Earlier this month, The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed that Diamonde prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The player has publicly said how much he loves the club, sharing that his father was a fan too.
He told French media, “Paris Saint-Germain is a team I’ve loved since I was little. My dad was a PSG supporter. I really admire the team.”
In another interview, he added, “It would be a pleasure to play for one of the biggest clubs like PSG. Playing in France would be great too because I speak French, so adapting would be easier. But I’m still with Leipzig for now.”
Since then, other top clubs have shown interest ahead of the transfer deadline on September 1.
According to German outlet BILD, shared by Sport Witness, Manchester City and Manchester United could also try to sign Diamonde.
His agents have been talking daily with several clubs and RB Leipzig about his future. But so far, no team is ready to pay more than Liverpool’s initial bid.
Real Madrid and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on things.
BILD says Leipzig plans to keep Diamonde for another year, but the player is open to moving if a good offer comes in. Leipzig might even agree to sell him but loan him back for a season.
On the other hand, some reports say Leipzig want to offer him a new contract with a big pay raise.
Diamonde himself has made it clear he wants to leave this summer.
During the World Cup, he said, “My dream is to play for my country and make history with them.
“I don’t have Instagram anymore, so I can say what I want.
“I expect to leave, of course. My agent will handle that.
“But right now, I’m focused on the World Cup and making history with my team.”
