Man Utd takes big step on Marcus Rashford transfer as Saudi and Turkey show interest
Here’s some exciting news about Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United — and it’s sure to spark some different opinions.
Last season, Rashford had a great loan spell at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and helping Hansi Flick’s team win La Liga. But Barcelona chose not to pay the £26 million to keep him permanently.
Now, Rashford is thinking about his next move, with plenty of options still open as the 2026/27 Premier League season approaches. There have been talks about him possibly moving to Turkey, Germany, Italy, or Saudi Arabia. Some Premier League clubs are also reportedly interested in signing him before the September 1 deadline.
On the flip side, new United coach Michael Carrick seems keen to work with Rashford. His skills and experience could be super helpful as Manchester United compete in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup this season.
United have already signed two midfielders this summer — Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea. They’re also looking to bring in another midfielder, a left-back, and a striker to support Benjamin Sesko, who is expected to be Carrick’s top choice up front.
Newcastle’s left-back Lewis Hall is reportedly United’s top target for the left-back spot, but a deal looks tricky since Newcastle have already sold key players like Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, and Bruno Guimarães.
United also need a left-sided attacker, and according to Fabrizio Romano’s update on YouTube, Rashford could be the perfect fit. Romano shared that United are feeling confident Rashford will stay, saying:
“Right now, there’s no progress with other clubs. Rashford isn’t interested in Turkey or Saudi Arabia — it’s not about the money. He just doesn’t want to play for those teams at this point in his career.
“So, it’s either staying at Man United or moving to a top club before the window closes. But it’s most likely he’ll stay at United.”
Romano added that Michael Carrick is eager to keep Rashford and give him another chance to shine at the club.
Rashford is expected back in training this week, with United kicking off their Premier League season away at Hull on August 23. It’s shaping up to be an exciting season!
