Carlos Alcaraz’s reaction says it all after teaming up with Serena Williams for the US Open!
Carlos Alcaraz is teaming up with Serena Williams for the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, and now the full list of players for the tournament is out. Together, they’ve won an amazing 30 Grand Slam titles—Serena has 23, and Carlos has 7.
Serena made a comeback at Wimbledon this summer but lost her first match in three sets to Maya Joint. Carlos, on the other hand, missed much of the ATP season after his big win at the Australian Open, where he beat Novak Djokovic in four sets to complete the career Slam.
Carlos couldn’t play at Roland Garros this year because of a wrist injury, which also kept him out of Wimbledon 2026. Last year, he had a memorable win at Roland Garros against his rival Jannik Sinner in one of the most exciting finals ever.
This year, Carlos and Serena will face tough competition in the Mixed Doubles, including another strong pair—Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic. They’ll also play against American players Taylor Fritz and Jessica Pegula, as well as rising stars Alex Eala and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
When the team was announced on social media, Carlos showed his excitement by tweeting, “Let’s gooooo!” and tagging Serena. Serena hasn’t responded yet, but it’s clear they’re both ready for a great tournament.
Carlos surprised everyone recently by confirming he’ll play at the US Open despite earlier worries about his wrist injury. Last year, Sinner beat Carlos at Wimbledon and held onto his title this year, but he won’t be at the US Open because of injury. This means Carlos has a great chance to add to his Grand Slam wins.
As the defending US Open champion, Carlos not only gets to defend his singles title but also has the exciting chance to win Mixed Doubles with Serena. The Doubles matches will be held from August 24 to 26, and the Singles tournament will start right after.
