Millions of FPL managers are worried before Gameweek 7 because one of their favorite players got hurt unexpectedly.
Fantasy Premier League managers are feeling the pressure over one player’s fitness as the 11am deadline on Saturday (October 17) approaches, after he got injured recently.
After the three-week international break, many FPL managers came back to find some of their players flagged with yellow or red warnings because of injuries picked up while playing for their countries. Some took this chance to use their wildcard chip ahead of Gameweek 7. But with the deadline less than 12 hours away, one player’s uncertain status is causing a lot of worry.

Morgan Gibbs-White is owned by over a million FPL users (13.8% at the moment), but Nottingham Forest’s star player is a big doubt for their Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday. Gibbs-White, who has scored 30 points in his first six matches, got a muscle injury during their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend.
Oliver Glasner confirmed that Gibbs-White hasn’t trained since the injury, making his participation in the next match uncertain and leaving many FPL managers anxious.
“Morgan Gibbs-White is doubtful. He couldn’t train all week with us, but it looks like he might join tomorrow’s session. He had an individual rehab session today,” Glasner said in Friday’s press conference.
“He got a minor muscle injury at Palace, so we have to see how he feels today and handles tomorrow’s training. Then I’ll make the final call. Injuries like this happen during a long season, especially when players are away on international duty for over two weeks.”
The Austrian coach added there’s a chance the 26-year-old could play against the Gunners, but the uncertainty is frustrating for the 13.8% of managers who own him.

Compared to last season, when everything he did was amazing, Gibbs-White has had an up-and-down start to 2026/27, scoring or assisting in only two matches so far. He did have a big 13-point game against Liverpool, scoring and assisting in a 2-2 draw, and then helped beat Aston Villa 2-1 by assisting a late winner.
At £8m, he’s one of the best value players in FPL. But with doubts about his fitness, some managers might avoid taking the risk and decide to transfer him out before the 11am deadline on October 17.
A top choice to replace him is Chelsea’s Morgan Rogers. His price has gone up from £7.5m to £7.9m after a great start to the season. Rogers has formed a powerful attacking trio with teammates Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, scoring four goals and assisting once in six matches since his £117 million record transfer from Aston Villa.
Chelsea’s No. 27 is a regular starter, plays almost every minute, puts up exciting attacking numbers, and even made 13 defensive contributions during their 5-1 win over Bournemouth.
Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are also good options to consider. Cunha scored in United’s recent 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur—his second double-digit points haul in a row—and he’s the sixth-highest scoring midfielder so far with 36 points.
Mbeumo isn’t far behind with 33 points, assisting Cunha against Spurs and scoring three times himself. Both are priced at £7.9m and, despite Man United’s struggles, their strong attacking form makes now a great time to take a chance on one of them.
