A fan on TikTok noticed that Julian Alvarez ‘liked’ a video that showed an edited picture of him wearing a Barcelona shirt, as talk about his future keeps growing. Alvarez wants to leave Atletico Madrid before the transfer window closes, but the Spanish club doesn’t seem eager to let him join his dream team, Barcelona, especially with tensions between them.
At the same time, Arsenal is ready to make a move for the Argentine striker if they get the green light from Alvarez or Atletico, according to ESPN. However, Alvarez seems to be holding out for Barcelona, as shown by his ‘like’ on the TikTok clip of him in the Barca shirt.

Alvarez has openly said he wants to leave Atletico this summer. While playing for Argentina in the World Cup in June, he said, “I talked with the people at Atletico, and the best thing for everyone is a transfer. I want to make my dream come true.” He also added, “It’s not the right time to talk about this, but I can’t hide it. I try to be honest.”
Earlier this week, Mundo Deportivo reported that Atletico’s management is willing to start talks with Arsenal, who might pay over £100 million. Atletico also raised their price for Alvarez after some fans gave him a rough reception during their recent game against Villarreal.
According to The Athletic, Atletico would consider offers of €150 million (£128 million) for Alvarez. A source close to Atletico’s leadership said they’ll only sell if Arsenal meets that price. While Arsenal’s interest is known, they haven’t made an official bid yet and might not want to pay that much.
Last week, Arsenal talked with both Atletico and Alvarez’s team about a possible deal, but reports suggest Alvarez isn’t too keen on another stint in the Premier League. As mentioned, his true dream is to join Barcelona.
