Max Verstappen is starting a new racing adventure, and Disney+ is joining the fun with his side story.

Max Verstappen has been branching out from just Formula 1 lately, and now he’s taking on a brand new challenge with Disney Plus and Red Bull.

This month, Max secured his future in F1 by signing a big new contract to stay with Red Bull, despite rumors he might switch to McLaren with Oscar Piastri. The deal keeps him at Red Bull until 2030—or until he decides to retire—showing his trust in the team to build a car that matches his talent as he goes for his fifth championship.

But Max hasn’t been sticking only to F1. He’s been trying out other races too, like switching from Zandvoort to the Nürburgring and even 24-hour endurance races. He proved he’s just as good outside F1, driving a Mercedes-AMG around the German track and racing a Super GT car, setting a fast time at Fuji Speedway, even beating GT500 race winner Atsushi Miyake in wet conditions.

Now, Max has a fun new project: he’ll take on 100 other drivers in a Karting race on Disney+. The event, called Max vs 100, is hosted by Red Bull and announced by Disney and ESPN. It will happen at Silverstone, where Max will start in 101st place and try to pass all the other drivers.

The other racers will include gaming stars, social media creators, streamers, media personalities, and surprise guests from around the world. Max grew up racing go-karts, just like many other F1 stars such as Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and Lando Norris. He says karting teaches the basics like starts, defending, and overtaking, and it’s always fun to go back to it.

Max shared, “In go-karts, you learn all the basics: starts, defending, overtaking. I spent a big part of my life karting, so it’s nice to return to it. It’s about feeling the grip of the kart, and after all those years, it comes back pretty naturally.”

He’ll be mic’d up to share his point of view during the race, and BAFTA-winning comedian Mo Gilligan will be the commentator. Mo said, “I’m really excited to work with Disney on this amazing project. Max Verstappen, 100 drivers, and one big race – this show will be fast, surprising, and super fun. I’ve got the best seat in the house and can’t wait to take everyone watching on Disney+ along for the ride.”

The live event will air on Disney+ on September 16, just three days after the first-ever F1 race at MADRING, the new Spanish GP in Madrid.
