Antonio Conte has made up his mind about joining Man United and set some important conditions for his next team.
Antonio Conte has made a big request for his next team, as he’s been linked with both Manchester United and Juventus.
On Wednesday night, Manchester United faced a tough loss, losing 4-1 to Como in the Champions League. Many fans now think manager Michael Carrick should be replaced. If Carrick does leave, Conte is a strong candidate to take over. But there’s a catch—Conte has a condition before he agrees to join a club.
Since leaving Napoli last season, Conte is free to join any club, and many big teams are interested. Besides United, Juventus has also shown interest. After losing 3-0 to Lazio recently, Juventus fans were heard calling for Conte as their current manager Luciano Spalletti comes under pressure.
Conte is said to be open to both teams but will decide based on who approaches him first and what they offer. However, Italian radio station TMW says Conte told Juventus he wants to come back to Turin—where he coached from 2011 to 2014—but only if he gets strong promises to rebuild the team over the next few years. If Juventus can’t promise this, he would choose United instead.
This news might worry United fans because it sounds like Juventus has the upper hand. If Juventus agrees to Conte’s terms, he might sign with them without thinking much about United’s offer.
If Conte picks Juventus over United, the big question will be who could replace Carrick at Old Trafford. Besides Conte, Eddie Howe is also linked to the job after being let go by Newcastle United.
New reports add another name to the list: Julian Nagelsmann, former Germany and Bayern Munich coach. Nagelsmann reportedly has support inside United and was even a top candidate before Carrick became permanent head coach this season.
Alongside Conte, Howe, and Nagelsmann, Brighton’s coach Fabian Hurzeler is also talked about as a possible choice, especially after his team’s great start, currently third in the Premier League.
So, Manchester United’s future on the sidelines could see some big changes soon!
