Jake Paul is back in the ring, and his next opponent’s name comes from a serious jaw injury.
Just a few months after having surgery to fix a jaw injury from his fight with Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul has stepped back into the boxing ring and shared plans for his next fight.
Jake Paul, who first became famous on YouTube, broke his jaw badly in that December 2025 fight with AJ. His jaw had to be put back together with metal rods. Even though his doctor warned him not to box again, Jake is determined to prove he’s more than just an entertainer—he wants to be a serious boxer.
Some long-time boxing fans and experts are worried about his return. Tyron Woodley even said Jake might be risking a very serious injury. But Jake was recently seen in the ring again, and his manager says he’ll be fighting next month and hopes for a popular rematch.
After being away from boxing for eight months, Jake was spotted dancing in the ring at the BP Pulse LIVE Arena in Birmingham, celebrating another fighter’s win. The event was shown on Sky Sports, and Jake showed off some smooth footwork and moves, looking good after his injury.
Now, Jake is aiming to start sparring in just a few weeks. Nakis Bidarian, the CEO of Jake’s promotion company MVP, told talkSPORT, “He’s cleared to spar in mid-September. The goal is for him to fight by the end of this year. It might slip to January, but that’s just about business and scheduling, not his ability. He’s really eager to get back in the ring.”
When asked about his next opponent, Bidarian said Tommy Fury is the top choice. “Tommy is the most fitting fight. His team just needs to agree on the deal. Tommy has fought more times since Jake’s last fight but hasn’t asked for what we’re offering. If Tommy wants the fight, great. If not, Jake will face other fighters. Jake is a huge draw worldwide, so we’re confident.”
Jake has plenty of fighters ready to take on the big payday he offers. If Tommy Fury isn’t interested, rumors say another well-known British boxer might step in for the fight.
