TNA says sorry and drops Max Caster just hours after his wrestling debut sparks controversy.

Max Caster has been let go from Total Nonstop Action (TNA) wrestling after making some controversial comments during his debut at Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory 2026 pay-per-view.

Caster, who is known from his time in All Elite Wrestling as part of The Acclaimed with Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn, caused a lot of upset backstage because of a line in his rap that mentioned a recent airport attack in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

While entering for an open challenge match against Moose, the former AEW World Tag Team champion rapped, “And it’s the firing squad. I drop bombs. You don’t even have to fly to Riyadh.”

Unsurprisingly, many wrestling fans were upset, and on Monday (October 12), TNA apologized for the “insensitive comments” and confirmed that “Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”

Their statement said: “Making light of violent attacks is wrong. This should never have been part of the show, and we take full responsibility. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected. We truly apologize.

“We have removed the segment from replays and our social media and are working to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Bound for Glory, which took place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, is TNA’s biggest event of the year. Many fans have questioned why the organization even signed him in the first place.

One person wrote on X: “So you brought in Max Caster, you knew what he does, and then fired him because of it.” Another pointed out, “This is the same company that let Jeff Hardy wrestle while drunk at VR 2011.” A third added, “But whose fault is this? Did nobody check what he was going to say?”

Caster has a history of stirring controversy with his raps. Back in AEW in August 2021, he made jokes about things like fake COVID-19 tests, Simone Biles’ mental health, the Duke lacrosse case, and a sexual joke about another wrestler. This led to his segment being pulled and AEW’s owner, Tony Khan, publicly criticizing him. Caster was also taken off TV for a while.

TNA will likely regret signing him after this upsetting rap. According to False Finish HQ, TNA had considered former WWE star Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) before Caster’s debut at Bound for Glory.

Sheamus recently became a free agent after leaving WWE in October, ending nearly 20 years with the company. He turned down a restructured contract extension before leaving. He was one of WWE’s top stars and could have been the one facing Moose at Bound for Glory instead of Caster.

Since leaving WWE, Sheamus has said he is open to any challengers in the next chapter of his career. There’s even talk that AEW might sign him.
