Shock club makes surprising late move for Jadon Sancho, 796 days after his last Man Utd game.

A La Liga team is interested in signing Jadon Sancho after the former Manchester United player has been without a club for almost five months. When Sancho joined Manchester United in July 2021 for £73 million, he was one of their biggest signings, and many people had high hopes for him.

But five years later, the former England star is currently a free agent after struggling to find success with several Premier League teams. Now, it’s been reported that Spanish club Getafe has reached out to offer Sancho a chance to restart his career.

During his time at Manchester United, Sancho made 18 goal contributions in 83 games and spent a lot of time away on loan. His latest loan was with Aston Villa under Unai Emery, who decided not to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

Sancho has been without a club for nearly five months, but Getafe, who are 14th in La Liga and playing in the Europa Conference League, have shown interest in signing him on a free transfer, according to the BBC. Although the deal might be tricky, Getafe are keen to find a way to make it happen.

If Sancho joins Getafe, he would be the second well-known player to sign for them as a free agent recently, after Real Madrid legend Dani Carvajal joined earlier this week.

There have been rumors linking Sancho with various clubs worldwide, including a surprising visit to non-league side Flixton during his free agent period.

If the move to Getafe doesn’t happen, his old club Borussia Dortmund might consider bringing him back—but only if the deal makes financial sense.

Sadly, Sancho is now seen as one of the Premier League’s biggest disappointments. At 26, he has played for three Premier League teams: Manchester United, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.

At Chelsea, he scored five goals in 41 games, including one in their Conference League final win over Real Betis. However, Chelsea paid £5 million to Manchester United to avoid making his transfer permanent, which showed how they truly felt about him.

With Aston Villa, he scored just once in 39 games, helped win the Europa League, but they also chose not to sign him permanently.

During his time at United, Sancho had a short loan back to Dortmund from January 2024 until the season’s end, scoring three goals in 21 games. He helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final, where they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
