Eddie Hearn shares exciting news about the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight

The superfight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is getting very close, says Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn.
Fury called out Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after an easy win over Arslanbek Makhmudov. Turki Alalshikh even tried to announce the fight right then and there. But Joshua, sitting in the front row, wasn’t having it and called Fury a “clout chaser” while waiting for final details to be sorted.
Still, it looks like this huge clash between two of Britain’s best heavyweights is nearly ready to happen. Hearn told Colm McGuigan from IFL TV that talks are going well for a two-fight deal between the former world champs.
After being in a serious car crash in December that sadly killed two close friends, Joshua will have a warm-up fight in July before facing Fury on DAZN and Netflix. Hearn was clear that the July fight won’t be against Jarrell Miller, who has some history with Joshua.
“AJ’s fighting in July,” Hearn said. “It might not be the most exciting matchup, but it’s important. Makhmudov got some criticism, but I thought he was a fair comeback opponent. He didn’t cause trouble that night, and he’s a solid fighter.
“We’re looking at a few options but won’t name names. They’re all tough. If AJ isn’t ready physically or mentally yet, it’ll be a dangerous fight, especially after what he’s been through.
“The good news is, he’s signed to fight Tyson Fury. Just hang tight in July for a 36-minute fight or less, then get ready for the biggest fight ever.”
Hearn also said the location of the fight will be wherever “His Excellency” wants it to be.
