Michael Jordan didn’t hold back when comparing Steph Curry and Magic Johnson, naming who he thinks is the best point guard in NBA history. Jordan is often called the NBA GOAT after his amazing career, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. Many other great players like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are also in the GOAT discussion.

Steph Curry is known as one of the greatest shooters ever and changed the game with his incredible 3-point skills. He’s won four NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors and is seen by many as the best point guard of all time. But Jordan sees it differently. He believes Magic Johnson is the best point guard, saying Magic is “easily the best point guard of all time.”

In 2023, Jordan sent a message to Stephen A. Smith saying: “Good morning, sir. Although ‘greatest’ is always up for debate, I think Magic Johnson is the best point guard ever. Steph Curry is very close but not ahead of Magic. You really have to define what a point guard is to have a serious conversation.”

Curry himself thinks he’s the greatest point guard in NBA history. When asked by Gilbert Arenas if he is, the 37-year-old confidently said, “Yes.” He also said, “I have to say that, but Magic’s resume is crazy good. The fact we’re even talking about this is a place I never imagined I’d be.”

Magic Johnson also shared his opinion during a talk with CBS Sports Radio in 2023. He said, “If he had more than five championships, three Finals MVPs, and three league MVPs, then he’d be the greatest. If he led in assists in Finals history, had more double-doubles, triple-doubles, and steals in the playoffs, then maybe he’s the best. But last I checked, he doesn’t have those stats.”
