NBA legend and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is reportedly catching the eye of a surprising team. At 41, LeBron is always remembered as one of the best players in NBA history. Throughout his career, he’s played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and the Lakers.

He’s a four-time NBA champion, four-time NBA Finals MVP, and was named Olympics MVP in 2024 after winning gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2024.

This week, rumors say the Golden State Warriors, rivals of the Lakers, are interested in signing LeBron when he becomes a free agent this offseason. NBA insider Jake Fischer shared, “The Warriors plan to be a big part of the market for LeBron once he’s an unrestricted free agent on June 30.”

The buzz about LeBron possibly leaving the Lakers came after ESPN reported tension between him and team governor Jeanie Buss. There are said to be some private frustrations from Buss about team control and the fallout from the Russell Westbrook trade.

Buss responded to those reports with a statement to The Athletic: “It’s not fair that LeBron has to be caught up in my family drama. Saying he wasn’t appreciated isn’t true and is unfair to him.”

NBA insider Chris Haynes also weighed in, saying on SiriusXM NBA Radio, “I wonder, ‘Why now?’ When things like this start to leak out, it usually means something big is about to happen. I don’t know what yet, but it’s how these things usually go.”

SPORTbible has reached out to LeBron James’ team for a comment.
