A Real Madrid player was taken to the hospital after losing consciousness during a scuffle with a teammate.
Things in the Real Madrid locker room seem to have gotten really tense, as news has come out that another fight at training sent one player to the hospital. Just days before the big El Clasico match against Barcelona, a shocking report said that six players are refusing to talk to Alvaro Arbeloa, and there was a fight between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.
The two had a heated argument that turned physical, following an earlier clash between Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras. According to MARCA, there was actually a second, more serious fight between Valverde and Tchouameni. It got so intense that other players had to step in, and Valverde ended up needing hospital care.
The report said this second fight was much worse than the first one. Because of this, there was an emergency meeting in the locker room with Real’s CEO Jose Angel Sanchez present. All the players joined the meeting, hoping to calm things down around the Valdebebas training center.
Sources inside the team told MARCA that Valverde refused to shake hands with Tchouameni after their first fight in the morning. The tension stayed high throughout practice, and by the end, Valverde got hurt after a heavy hit during the second fight. El Chiringuito said Valverde needed stitches, and Arbeloa was with him after the blow. RMC Sport later reported that Valverde even lost consciousness for a while.
After the incident, Real made it clear to both players that they would face strong punishment. One source said, “It will be the harshest penalty possible.” Both players have been given disciplinary orders, and the club will investigate both fights.
Real was already knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, and now it looks like Barcelona will take the La Liga title. Barca is 11 points ahead with just four games left, and if Real doesn’t win this Sunday’s Clasico at Camp Nou, Barca will secure the league.
Real, who replaced Xabi Alonso with Arbeloa, are ending the season without a major trophy and might also change their coach again in the summer.
