Spurs are looking to sign another Liverpool star after Andy Robertson to set off a chain reaction in transfers.

Tottenham are looking to sign a second player from Liverpool after bringing in Andy Robertson, and this could set off a chain reaction across Europe. Spurs announced on Friday that Robertson will officially join them on July 1 once his Liverpool contract ends.
Robertson, Scotland’s captain and a key player, is currently getting ready to lead his country at the World Cup. Over nine years at Liverpool, he won nine trophies. His move to Spurs had been expected for a while and was confirmed just before the final Premier League game of the season.
Reports say Liverpool won’t buy a new left-back and will rely on Kostas Tsimikas, who is returning from a loan at Roma. But Spurs are also keen on another Liverpool star, which could make their transfer window very busy.
Dutch news site SoccerNews.nl reports that Spurs are interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, with plans to make an offer. Gakpo, who signed a long contract last summer, recently asked to leave, according to the same source.
The 27-year-old reportedly doesn’t see a future at Liverpool after their former manager Arne Slot was sacked and replaced by Andoni Iraola. Gakpo was one of Slot’s trusted players and started 33 league games last season.
If Gakpo leaves, Liverpool could use the money to sign a new winger. Sky Sports says Liverpool have reached out to RB Leipzig about Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, who is valued at £120 million. Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain also want Diomande, but if that deal falls through, PSG might go after Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez instead.
Barcelona is already known to be interested in Alvarez, and Atletico has called out their Spanish rivals for going after the player on social media.
This domino effect could even reach Manchester United, who are still unsure about Marcus Rashford’s future. Rashford’s loan at Barca ends on June 30, and right now, he’s set to return to Old Trafford after the World Cup.
But if Barca can’t sign Alvarez, they might move quickly to make Rashford’s deal permanent. That would give United extra funds this summer to make more signings under new permanent manager Michael Carrick.
