Marcus Rashford’s kind act towards Anthony Gordon after his move to Barcelona was announced says a lot.

Anthony Gordon spoke warmly about Marcus Rashford, calling him “lovely” and “very caring,” and shared what Rashford said after his move to Barcelona became official.
At the end of last month, Gordon made his big £70 million move from Newcastle United to Barcelona, signing a five-year contract worth about £300,000 a week. Meanwhile, Rashford’s future is a bit uncertain. He’s been on loan at Barcelona since last summer and has played regularly, scoring 14 goals in all competitions for the team that just won La Liga.
At one point, it seemed likely Rashford might join Barcelona permanently. However, things changed when Barcelona signed Gordon, who also plays on the left wing. On top of that, Spanish news outlet SPORT says Barcelona is seriously thinking about signing free agent Bernardo Silva, which would likely mean Rashford won’t stay. The report says, “With the arrival of the Portuguese player and the already confirmed signing of Anthony Gordon, there would be no room in the squad for the English winger.”
Despite the doubts about his club future, Rashford joined up with his England teammates this week as they prepare for the World Cup. While there, he chatted with the new Barcelona signing Gordon, who shared what Rashford told him.
“He was just telling me how good the lads are there, the team spirit that they have, which I’d already heard about from people at Barca,” Gordon told talkSPORT. “So, I’m really excited to join them. He also told me about the city and places to live. He’s a lovely guy and very caring. He was just giving me some helpful info.”
Gordon also talked about his big move to Barcelona, which he recently called the biggest club in the world.
“It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks, but honestly the best two weeks for me and my family,” he said. “I’ve told them since I was young, and I said in interviews, that I wanted to reach this point. They’ve been really proud and congratulated me a lot.”
“But I’m not happy just playing for Barcelona — I want to win everything. In my mind, this is where my career really starts. I’m at the stage I always dreamed of.”
“Now I just need to keep pushing myself to the next level,” Gordon added.
After the last game of the La Liga season, Rashford was asked if he’ll still be at Barcelona next year.
“I don’t know,” he said with a smile. “I’m not a magician, but if I was, I’d stay. We’ll see. I came here to win, and I want to win as much as I can. This is another chance for that.”
“This team is amazing and will win a lot in the future. Being a part of that would be very special.”
