John Fury got lots of praise for giving the “most mature interview” of his life when he talked about his feud with his son Tyson.

John Fury, the big-hearted head of the Fury boxing family, has been getting praise for his “most mature interview” during some tough times with one of his sons.

John has talked before about his issues with Tyson, saying their relationship has been “completely destroyed” by boxing. He’s also been honest about Tyson’s skills at 37.

In a chat with ex-fighter Tony Bellew and Fight Your Corner, John shared that his main goal is always to look out for his son’s wellbeing.

“This is where Tyson and I clash, because I have to deal with his mum. She’s told me many times, ‘You’re not the man I thought you were. You’re letting him do whatever he wants. You’ve got the power to stop him,’” said John.
“What do you do? Make him unhappy? I stopped him last time and it was like someone died in the house.”

When asked if he’s worried about Tyson before his upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua, which has been his main focus since coming back, John said Tyson is happiest when he’s training and at the gym. He also said he’s not sure exactly what to expect.

“There’s always a worry with him,” said the 61-year-old. “Mental health is serious, and Tyson struggles more than most people realize.
“I live with him and see him every day. I know what he goes through. Without boxing and the gym, he falls apart and does things most wouldn’t even think of.
“It’s heartbreaking. You can see him slipping.”

Big John hopes Tyson stays involved in boxing and gives back by helping train the next generation.

After some tough moments following Tommy Fury’s win over Eddie Hall in Manchester last week, John’s honest interview has earned lots of respect from fans.

“When John talks boxing and not about himself, he’s really interesting and knows a lot,” one fan said.

“He seems like a good guy in this setting. He just needs to stop calling people out and punching walls,” said another.

And a third added, “This is the real John Fury! Smart, down to earth, and very thoughtful!”
