Seven teams have been knocked out, so every other team has already made it to the World Cup knockout stage.

The teams that have already secured their spots in the World Cup knockout stages are now known.

After two weeks of thrilling matches, the last group stage games of the 2026 World Cup are here, with teams battling to claim the final places in the knockouts.

This World Cup is special because it’s the first with 48 teams instead of 32. Out of these, 32 teams will move on to the next round.

The top two teams from each of the 12 groups will go through automatically, along with the eight best third-place teams.

So far, 13 teams have booked their spots in the round of 32, while seven teams have been knocked out. In total, 16 countries have been eliminated after the group stage.

In Group A, co-host Mexico was the first team to qualify for the round of 32 by winning against South Africa and Korea Republic in their first two matches. They also knocked out Czechia with a win in their last group game. South Africa pulled off a big surprise by beating Korea to reach the knockout stage for the first time ever.

Group B is unique with three teams moving forward: Switzerland, Canada, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Switzerland topped the group after beating Canada 2-1 in Vancouver, while Canada came second. Bosnia got through as one of the best third-place teams, edging out Scotland and others. Unfortunately, Qatar has been knocked out.

In Group C, Brazil and Morocco have qualified, while Haiti is out. Scotland finished third and will have to wait and see if they can advance.

Group D saw co-host USA advance as group winners, but Turkey had a surprising exit.

Germany topped Group E and made it to the next round.

Group F has yet to see any team move on, but Tunisia is already out.

Thanks to stars like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, France and Norway are both through in Group I. They’ll find out after their final match who finishes first and second.

In Group J, Argentina is through to the knockouts, but Jordan has been eliminated.

Colombia has secured their spot from Group K.

Group L is still undecided after England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana. Panama is at the bottom and out of the tournament.
