A video of Spurs warming up before the Aston Villa game shows why they haven’t scored a Premier League goal yet.
Tottenham Hotspur haven’t had the best start to their Premier League season, currently sitting just above the relegation zone. Spurs fans are still waiting to see their team score a goal, let alone win a match, which is starting to raise worries about another tough season near the bottom of the table.
Things got a bit more concerning after a video of the Spurs team warming up before their game against Aston Villa popped up on social media.
At halftime, Aston Villa was leading 1-0 thanks to a late first-half goal from Johan Manzambi. Both teams have struggled to find the net this season, with Villa’s one goal being the only one between them so far. If Villa can keep this lead, it might feel like their season is finally starting for real. Meanwhile, Spurs fans are still waiting for that first goal.
The video on X showed the Spurs players doing a shooting drill 15 minutes before kick-off, but out of 21 shots, only six actually hit the target. That’s not the kind of sight Spurs fans want to see when their team is desperate for goals. In the first half, Spurs did improve a bit, hitting the target with four of their nine shots, though they still didn’t score.
While some fans are worried about the poor shooting, many tried to stay positive. One fan joked, “They probably save it for the game.” Another said, “Get the misses out of the way early, good thinking.” A third agreed, “Just getting it out of their system. Seen them hit the target a lot in prematch and then couldn’t hit barn door during so let’s hope it’s the reverse!”
Despite this hope, Spurs didn’t score in the first half, leaving some fans feeling worried that another tough season could be on the way. One supporter said, “No pressure from 15 yards and they’re delivering those results lol.” Another simply added, “Sums it right up.” And one person wrote sadly, “Long story short. It’s over!”
