AEW wrestler Benjamin Satterley, also known as Pac, has sadly passed away at the age of 40.
British wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as PAC in AEW and Neville in WWE, has sadly passed away at just 40 years old. AEW shared the news on Sunday, only a day after Satterley took part in their “All Out” event near Chicago.
The statement said: “All Elite Wrestling is heartbroken to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, also known as Pac. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Ben started wrestling in 2004 and wowed fans worldwide with his amazing high-flying moves and skill in the ring.”
No cause of death has been given.
Just the day before, Satterley faced Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship. He joined AEW in 2019 and won several championships there. Before AEW, he made a name for himself in the British wrestling scene and had an impressive career, working with big promotions like WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, the oldest wrestling group still running.
Known as ‘The Man Gravity Forgot,’ Ben was famous for his spectacular moves like the Red Arrow—a corkscrew 450-degree splash from the top rope. Many people have shared their shock and sadness about his passing.
WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman called Ben a “tremendous talent and an even better person,” sending his deepest sympathies to everyone who knew him.
AEW president Tony Khan said Ben “defined excellence” with his skills, athleticism, and professionalism, and wished him peace.
British wrestler Will Ospreay, who also works with AEW, said Ben was “the greatest export from our country” and “the greatest human being,” feeling honored to have shared the ring with him many times.
WWE’s Rhea Ripley remembered Ben as “extremely talented” and said it hurts to know their funny moments at shows are now just memories. She said his fun signs and presence always made shows more enjoyable and wished him peace.
Former AEW wrestler Shota Umino called it an “honor to wrestle” with Ben and said he’ll never forget their matches in the UK and US.
Benjamin Satterley’s talent and spirit touched many, and he leaves behind a powerful legacy in wrestling.
