After 44 days without a club since leaving Man Utd, Jadon Sancho has finally made his transfer decision.
Jadon Sancho has made an important decision about which club he wants to join next, according to a recent report—over a month after he left Manchester United.
Sancho’s contract ended on June 30, and after five years with United, he has moved on. The 26-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Chelsea and Aston Villa, so it wasn’t likely that United would offer him a new deal.
Villa had the chance to buy him permanently after their Europa League win last season but decided not to. Earlier this month, Sancho was seen training with a 10th-tier non-league team, Flixton FC, to keep fit while looking for a new club.
Other than that, there hasn’t been much news about where he might go next. BBC Sport now says Sancho has offers from a few unnamed Premier League clubs for the 2026/27 season. Still, it seems he’d like to move abroad, with Borussia Dortmund especially interested.
A return to Dortmund, where he used to play, could be on the cards. Sancho last played for England in 2021. German football expert Kevin Hatchard told talkSPORT that Dortmund’s leaders are open to making a deal but expect it to happen later in the transfer period.
In Italy, Roma made a £20 million offer for Sancho last summer, and they might try again after missing out on Crysencio Summerville, who left West Ham for Saudi club Al Hilal in a huge £55 million deal. Fiorentina is another Italian club linked with him.
Although Sancho didn’t stay at Villa last season, he seemed to enjoy his time there under manager Unai Emery. “It’s my teammates and my manager who’ve given me confidence and belief,” he said in a March interview with TNT Sports. “My teammates have been great to me. I feel like I can do more because I know myself. But mostly, I’m happy the team is doing well.
“When you have a captain like John McGinn, you know the vibes. John has been great with me from day one, so big shout out to John for that.”
