Almost 500,000 FPL managers made a big mistake just one day into the international break.
Just one day into the international break, five busy strikers with packed international schedules have been picked by nearly 500,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.
These five forwards, all facing tough international matches and injury risks, have been added to the teams of almost half a million FPL players.
Charalampos Kostoulas, who helped Brighton beat Arsenal 3-0 on Saturday with two goal involvements, leads the way with over 200,000 FPL managers adding him.
Those contributions bring Kostoulas’ top-flight total this season to three goal involvements (two goals and one assist), earning 28 points so far. He’s been brought into 204,661 FPL teams.
The Brighton winger, valued at £5.6 million, also scored in a 5-0 win against newly-promoted Coventry City earlier in the season.
Kostoulas has been called up by Greece’s manager Ivan Jovanovic for upcoming Nations League matches against Serbia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Germany again.
Greece will face Serbia first on Thursday at 7:45pm, then Germany on Sunday. They play their last two games on October 1 and 4, before Kostoulas returns to Brighton.
Brian Brobbey, who scored a hat-trick against league leaders Manchester City on Sunday, has been chosen by 116,080 FPL managers ahead of the Netherlands’ Nations League games.
His three goals for Sunderland were his first this season, giving him 24 points in five Premier League games and just over 400 minutes played.
The Dutch attacker, worth £5.7 million in FPL, is doing well, with an expected goals (xG) of 2.94 so far.
Brobbey faces Germany on Thursday at 7:45pm BST, with nearly 120,000 FPL managers worried about any injury risks in these tough matches.
The Netherlands have three more games in the break: Serbia on September 29, Greece on October 1, and Serbia again on October 4.
Liverpool’s Swedish striker, who was once a record signing in Britain, is having a much better season compared to last year’s injury problems.
Isak, priced at £9.1 million, has five goal involvements (four goals and one assist) for 33 points.
His latest goal helped Liverpool win 1-0 away at Bournemouth, where he scored by taking advantage of a loose ball.
Sweden’s national team manager Graham Potter has also called him up for four Nations League matches against Romania, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania again.
Sweden’s first game is on Friday against Romania at 7:45pm BST, with Poland next on Monday. The final two games are on October 2 and 5.
Leeds United’s striker, valued at £6 million, has three goals and 22 points this season.
Calvert-Lewin, called up by England boss Thomas Tuchel, scored twice in Leeds’ 4-1 win over Newcastle in mid-September.
England will face Spain on Saturday at 7:45pm BST, then Czechia next Tuesday.
They finish their break with matches against Croatia and Czechia on October 3 and 6. Calvert-Lewin has been brought into 60,062 FPL teams for these fixtures.
Newcastle’s striker Wissa, who will play in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with DR Congo, has two goal involvements (one goal and one assist) this season.
Valued at £6.2 million, and added by 50,771 FPL managers, Wissa has earned 15 points so far.
His international schedule is a bit lighter, with games against Equatorial Guinea on Thursday at 5pm BST, then Zimbabwe on Monday.
