Billy Wingrove signs his first pro football contract at 43 years old!
Famous freestyler Billy Wingrove has just signed a pro football contract at the age of 43.
Billy became well-known with Jeremy Lynch as the F2 Freestylers. Together, their YouTube channel has over 10 million subscribers, plus even more fans on other platforms. Though they parted ways in 2021, both still create content online. Billy now focuses on his YouTube channel with his family, which has 3.66 million subscribers.
A big Tottenham Hotspur fan, Billy tried out for their academy when he was young. In 2003, he made history by signing the first-ever professional freestyle contract in English football. After that, he played semi-professional football for several years and even scored in Soccer Aid 2025 representing the Rest of the World.
Now, Billy has signed with Desert Falcon FC, a team in the United Arab Emirates’ fourth division. The club is led by former Newcastle defender Steven Taylor, and Billy will join as a player-coach at 43 years old.
The club’s Instagram announcement said, “We’re thrilled to have Billy Wingrove as part of Desert Falcon FC. He brings tons of football knowledge, creativity, and passion. He’ll help support both the First Team and the Academy, working closely with Steven Taylor to raise standards, develop players, and grow our club’s culture.”
Dubai has become a popular spot for former English footballers. Jonjo Shelvey is now managing Arabian Falcons in the UAE Second League. Danny Simpson, a Premier League winner, and former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison both play for the club—Simpson also coaches, and Morrison is the captain. Jason Puncheon, who played for Southampton and Crystal Palace, co-owns the club and looks after football operations.
When Shelvey became manager earlier this year, he said, “I’m excited to take on this challenge and lead the Falcons forward. We have a talented team and a clear goal to get promoted and build something special in Dubai. I want to reach the top in management, and this is a perfect chance to show what I can do.”
