Chelsea responds with a friendly statement after a viral post teasing Arsenal about their Champions League loss.

Arsenal lost to PSG in the Champions League final on Saturday night in Budapest, and Chelsea couldn’t resist having a little fun with their London rivals on social media.

The Blues have won the trophy twice, while Arsenal has only made it to the final two times but never taken the prize. In the 2026 final, Arsenal was beaten by PSG on penalties, with Gabriel missing a key spot-kick that handed the French team back-to-back titles.

Right after the final, Chelsea shared a post promoting their Stadium Tour at Stamford Bridge. The first image showed the Champions League trophy, alongside pictures of their Club World Cup and a sign that said “Pride of London.”

This post quickly went viral, as many saw it as a cheeky jab at Arsenal’s Champions League loss.

Now, Chelsea has followed up with another social media message addressing the reaction. They said, “We probably deserve another red card for that last post! But seriously, congratulations to @Arsenal on winning the Premier League and a great run in the Champions League. Looking forward to the battle again next season.”

It’s been a tough year for Chelsea — they’ve had two managers leave, lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City, and won’t be playing in European competitions next season. This playful social media moment might be one of the few bright spots for the Blues this season.

That said, there’s new hope now with Xabi Alonso officially becoming the Chelsea manager. Fans are excited, hoping he’ll bring the Champions League back to Stamford Bridge, and maybe even add some trophies to the club’s cabinet.
