Djed Spence has a famous older sister that most England fans don’t know about.
Djed Spence and his England teammates are gearing up to play Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals, and fans are excited to cheer them on. Among those supporters will surely be Djed’s famous older sister.
The 25-year-old Spurs star has played in every World Cup game so far, showing just how important he is to coach Thomas Tuchel’s team. Djed has played both fullback positions during the five matches and made some key tackles late in the game against Mexico to help England reach the quarter-finals.
While many fans know his name, they might not realize he has a celebrity sister. His older sister, Karla-Simone Spence, is a British actress and voiceover artist who’s been in several well-known projects.
At 29, Karla-Simone is best known for her roles in the movie Blue Story and the ITVX period drama The Confessions of Frannie Langton. She’s also appeared in BBC shows like Gold Digger and Wannabe, and acted alongside Sam Claflin in The Count of Monte Cristo as Haydee.
Karla-Simone has shared that she found her love for acting when she was just 11 years old, after playing Joseph in her primary school’s production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. At that time, her brother Djed would have been only seven.
Djed started his professional football career by signing with Middlesbrough in 2018, two years after Karla-Simone kicked off her acting journey. Interestingly, her breakout role happened the same year he moved from Fulham’s academy.
He spent four years playing in northeast England before moving back to London in 2022 to join Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, he’s spent some time out on loan but has steadily made progress.
Now, Djed has earned 12 caps for England and made history as the first Muslim player to be called up to the senior men’s team. He joined England in August 2025 and made his debut a few days later in a World Cup qualifying match against Serbia.
