England earned a 2-0 win against Panama to top Group L of the World Cup, though their performance wasn’t the most convincing. Still, several players showed they deserve to stay in the squad for the next round.

Thomas Tuchel’s team is likely to face either DR Congo or Senegal in the round of 32 after their win over Panama.

Even though it was a tough game to secure the three points, some players really stood out. Fans especially noticed one player who impressed so much in his role that many hope he stays in the team for the rest of the tournament.

Marcus Rashford came on for Anthony Gordon on the left side of England’s attack during the Panama match. The Manchester United star looked lively with his direct runs and willingness to challenge defenders.

Gordon, meanwhile, has struggled to make an impact so far, and now he might be on the bench if fans get their way—they want Rashford to be Tuchel’s first choice there.

One fan said, “Rashford can be a bit wasteful, but he’s definitely a much better option than Gordon right now. He’s more involved, a better dribbler, and a better passer.”

Another wrote, “Rashford is way more dangerous than Gordon. I don’t know why Tuchel kept starting Gordon over him.”

And someone else noted, “Rashford seemed way more likely to create chances than Gordon and Madueke did in the last couple of games.”

Many fans also pointed out that Barcelona paid €80 million for Gordon, instead of keeping Rashford on loan, who would have been a cheaper option at €30 million.

One supporter asked, “Barcelona, why would you pay so much for Gordon over Rashford? Are we watching the same game?”

Another added, “We signed Gordon to quiet that old Bayern guy, but Rashford is shining way more than the player who cost €80 million.”

And one fan said, “It only took Tuchel giving Rashford a start for people to see why Barca chose to spend €50 million more on 25-year-old Gordon. Rashford’s already great and probably won’t get much better than this.”
