England is set to face Norway in the World Cup quarter-final this Saturday evening in Miami, with the game kicking off at 10 pm British Standard Time. However, there might be a delay. Their last match against Mexico at the Azteca Stadium was pushed back by an hour because of the weather.

Before that game, there was talk about moving the match earlier to avoid bad weather, but both teams decided not to change the time. Now, it looks like England might face another delay. Weather experts have warned of possible thunderstorms in Miami that could hold up the start of the game.

According to FIFA rules, if lightning is spotted within eight miles of the stadium, the game has to stop immediately. Players can’t go back on the field until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike, plus another 15 minutes to warm up again.

Chad Merrill, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, told Sun Sport that thunderstorms are quite likely around the stadium before the England vs Norway match. He explained that in Florida, afternoon showers and storms are common because of the sea breeze coming in from the Atlantic, often bringing heavy rain and gusty winds.

England will probably see this as just another challenge in their World Cup journey. From having their equipment stolen before the tournament to dealing with injuries and tough weather, they’ve faced a lot already. This could be another chance for the team to show their strength as they push for their first World Cup win since 1966.
