FPL shares 11 big position changes as Omar Marmoush and Patrick Dorgu swap roles
Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has shared some exciting updates ahead of the 2026/27 season, including position changes for 11 players. The FPL launch is just around the corner, and on Monday, they revealed new features to make the game even more fun.
One cool update is that managers can now see their players’ points for appearances, goals, assists, and clean sheets live during matches. This means you can watch in real time how much impact a goal or assist has on your team. Plus, your mini-league rank and overall standing will update live too, making the app more exciting to use.
There are also some changes to the Bonus Points System (BPS). Players won’t lose points anymore when tackled or dispossessed, which is great news for tricky dribblers like Jeremy Doku and Morgan Rogers. On the other hand, DEFCON points are a bit harder to earn now: players get 1 bonus point for every three clearances, blocks, or interceptions, instead of every two.
With the Premier League kicking off on August 21, there are some position switches to note. Junior Kroupi is now a number 10 instead of a forward, Patrick Dorgu has moved from defender to midfielder, and Omar Marmoush is changing from midfielder to forward. Other changes include Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly switching from defender to midfielder, while Mats Wieffer moves the other way.
Now that positions are set, managers are waiting for player price updates before the game officially opens. Last year, FPL went live on July 21, so keep an eye out—it might launch later this week!
