Harry Kane decides on his Tottenham return and reveals plans for after the World Cup
Harry Kane has had a great time at Bayern Munich since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. He’s already won several big trophies with the German club.
The England captain seems to be enjoying life in the Bundesliga, having helped Bayern win the league title twice. Still, some fans have wondered if he might return to Spurs as his career moves forward.
But there’s no sign Kane is thinking about retiring anytime soon; he’ll be 33 when the new season starts. Many English fans had hoped he might come back to the Premier League to break Alan Shearer’s top scorer record.
Shearer scored 260 Premier League goals, while Kane has 213 so far. It seemed Kane might need a few more seasons to catch him.
However, reports from Christian Falk at CF Bayern suggest Kane won’t be moving back to Tottenham or going to Real Madrid this summer. Falk said, “Real Madrid needs a new plan, and it might take a year or two. Maybe under a new coach, José Mourinho, they could compete next year, but right now it’s uncertain.”
He added, “At Bayern, Harry Kane sees a clear chance. Sorry, Tottenham fans, but Harry wants to win the Champions League now. He doesn’t want to wait for Spurs to get there. He wants to win the big title.”
It looks like Kane is more likely to extend his contract with Bayern. The club is building a strong team under Vincent Kompany, aiming to win the Champions League in the next year or two.
Falk said, “After England’s World Cup exit, Bayern will give Harry some rest. Now, there’s extra time to start talks about a new contract, and we hope that happens soon because we really want to keep him in the Bundesliga.”
He also mentioned that Kane focused fully on the World Cup and didn’t talk about his contract. Now, he’s back with Bayern and can see what he has here—a chance to keep winning titles and, importantly, to win the Champions League, which is the big trophy he’s yet to claim. Kane knows staying with Bayern gives him a great shot at that goal.
