Harry Kane just gave us one of the best post-match interviews ever, even though he lost his voice!
After belting out every word of Oasis’s hit Wonderwall at full volume, a speechless Harry Kane gave a post-match interview to remember after England’s thrilling 3-2 win over Mexico.
The Three Lions booked their spot in the World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday night thanks to goals from Kane and two from Jude Bellingham.
England took a strong two-goal lead early on after Bellingham scored twice quickly in the first half, but Julian Quinones’s goal just before halftime fired up the Mexican fans at the lively Estadio Azteca.
Thomas Tuchel’s team had to fight hard for most of the second half after Jarell Quansah was sent off with a straight red card for a bad challenge on Jesus Gallardo following a VAR check.
Then, a penalty by Raul Jimenez in the 69th minute made things tense as England, down to 10 men, had to defend with everything they had.
But they held on through 11 minutes of stoppage time. Soon after, the entire England squad joined their fans in the stands for their famous singalong of Wonderwall.
As usual, captain Harry Kane was next up for a BBC interview — and it turned into one of the most unforgettable post-match chats in World Cup history.
Kane was almost losing his voice as he talked about the game.
One fan said: “Harry Kane losing his voice might be the best moment of the World Cup so far,” while another joked: “Harry Kane has gone full Marge Simpson in this interview.”
A third added: “Harry Kane laughing at his own voice is pure comedy gold.”
So, what did Kane say? “My voice has gone,” he laughed. “It was a crazy game. We had to fight hard. I’ve just been singing, I can’t really talk.”
“Everything was against us, but we found a way,” Kane continued. “I’m speechless, I can’t even talk.”
England will take on Norway in the World Cup quarter-final on Saturday, June 11, where two of the world’s best strikers—Erling Haaland and Kane—will face off.
