Joao Neves caught everyone’s attention this week when he showed up to Paris Saint-Germain training driving a simple Peugeot Transit van. A video of the moment quickly spread on social media, with many fans wondering why a well-paid football star would choose such a humble ride.

It turns out Neves was driving the van because the trunk was full of hundreds of gifts he planned to donate to the PSG Foundation to help kids in need.

Neves earns around €175,000 a week, but was seen driving a white 2021 Peugeot Partner van, worth about $10,000. The real reason for his modest choice was his wish to support the local community without seeking any attention.

PSG influencer Djaameel shared this on social media: “João Neves did arrive in a van, but there’s a great reason behind it. He carried hundreds of items to donate to the PSG Foundation’s charity work! This shows how humble and generous he is.”

Looking ahead, Neves aims to shine on the field when PSG plays Monaco in their Ligue 1 match on Friday night. He missed the recent 2-2 game against Lille due to illness but is expected back this weekend. If he plays, he’ll mark his 100th appearance for PSG since joining from Benfica two years ago.

In his time with PSG, Neves has become a key player under coach Luis Enrique, known for his hard work in midfield. He’s already won two Ligue 1 titles, two Champions League trophies, and even made the Ligue 1 Team of the Year once.

Fans are excited to see what he does next—both on and off the pitch!
