JJ Gabriel’s replacement is ready as Man United looks set to snap up Liverpool’s young star in a surprising move!
Manchester United have exciting news, signing a promising young player and getting close to bringing in two more – including a Liverpool youngster who might replace JJ Gabriel.
Seventeen-year-old midfielder Karim Cassim has officially joined United from Manchester City after Premier League approval. Cassim, a box-to-box midfielder, can now play in United’s academy games. He helped City win the FA Youth Cup last season and has represented England at youth level.
According to The Athletic, United is focusing on signing talented young players like Cassim to develop them into future first-team stars. They’re also close to signing 16-year-old defensive midfielder David Eze from Man City and another 16-year-old, Isaac Konde, from Liverpool. Konde could step in for Gabriel, who wants to leave United.
Gabriel told the club last week that he wants to end his registration and has been talking with Barcelona and Real Madrid. He can’t sign a scholarship at United until he turns 16 on October 6, but that now seems unlikely. Premier League rules say players can’t sign professional contracts until they’re 17, but with his Irish passport, Gabriel could sign with an EU club when he turns 16.
United has refused to cancel Gabriel’s registration so far. All parties—the club, the player, and his family—must agree to end it. If they don’t, anyone involved can ask the Premier League to make a binding decision. If United blocks the move, Gabriel might appeal to the Premier League or FIFA.
Liverpool academy reporter Lewis Bower shared that Konde was offered a scholarship with Liverpool after playing with their under-18 team as an under-16 player. In June, Bower said Konde impressed with his speed and attitude, playing both as a winger and striker. While still developing, Konde showed great potential and positive spirit, making him a valuable talent. It sounds like Liverpool will miss him, but he’s expected to do well.
