Jude Bellingham gives Martin Brundle one of the funniest and most memorable grid walk moments ever before the Spanish GP!
Jude Bellingham got lots of praise for his chat with Martin Brundle during the grid walk before the Spanish Grand Prix.
Most of the Real Madrid team was at the new Circuito de Madrid for this first-ever F1 race there.
Brundle stopped Bellingham for a quick talk, and unlike some celebrities who aren’t very open, Bellingham was really friendly and honest.
He talked about Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Räikkönen, admitting he had to fake understanding some of the technical stuff.
He also thanked Brundle for watching him at the World Cup and congratulated him on his goal in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
“Yeah, good going. Good start to the season. One little slip-up, but other than that pretty good,” he said about Real Madrid’s form under Jose Mourinho.
Brundle called him “outstanding” at the World Cup, and Bellingham replied, “Thank you. Thank you so much, I’m glad you had a good time.”
Bellingham shared that he’d been talking with George and Kimi about F1, but said, “I’ve got to act like I understand, but the levels they’re at with strategy and all… they’re on a whole other level.”
Brundle mentioned how hard it was to use all 29 buttons on an F1 steering wheel when he drove one.
“Unbelievable,” Bellingham said. “I’m used to a PlayStation controller, and they’re handling 40 buttons! They work so hard and totally deserve it. I really admire how calm they stay under pressure.”
After the interview, both thanked each other for their time.

But Hamilton’s brakes failed later, pushing him to the back and forcing him to retire from the race—the first time this season.
