Kimi Antonelli joins a special group with Michael Schumacher after his great qualifying run at the Miami GP.

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has joined an exclusive group that includes Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher after his impressive performance in Miami Grand Prix qualifying.
Antonelli, who has already won two races this year alongside his teammate George Russell, showed his strong form again at the Hard Rock Stadium. With this achievement, he became only the third driver ever to secure pole position in his first three races in a row, joining the ranks of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher shares the record for the most F1 titles with seven, while Senna is remembered as one of the sport’s all-time greats. Even though Red Bull and Max Verstappen, along with Ferrari, have been strong competitors, Antonelli kept his winning streak alive and joined this elite group of drivers.
After his amazing qualifying, the young Italian shared his thoughts: “Being on pole again feels fantastic. The Sprint didn’t go our way, but I’m really happy with how we bounced back. I got a bit excited on my last lap in Q3, but the first lap was good enough, and I’m happy with that.”
Looking ahead to the race, Antonelli said, “I hope tomorrow is a magic day. It would be great not to lose any positions at the start, but we’ll do our best. This weekend has been tough, but we’ve stayed focused and made the most of our performance, so I’m happy.”
His teammate George Russell finished fifth in qualifying, marking the first time this season that Mercedes hasn’t locked the top two spots. Meanwhile, Verstappen managed to get his Red Bull onto the front row despite not qualifying higher than eighth in the first three races this year.
