Lando Norris felt really upset after a surprising paparazzi incident went too far.
F1 champion Lando Norris has opened up about feeling “violated” after an experience with paparazzi that he felt crossed his privacy.
Since winning the 2025 Drivers’ Championship, Lando’s popularity has grown a lot. More people now know him, and he’s become a face for several big brands.
His earnings have gone up, but with success come some challenges too.
In a recent chat with The Independent, Lando shared how paparazzi have made him feel down. He started avoiding going out for dinner to escape the cameras and would instead stay home gaming.
He even described being chased for 40 minutes through London by the media when he was just on his way to a friend’s dinner.
“I’m getting a bit older and want to be able to go out freely,” he said.
“Last year, I just gamed and felt a bit like a loser, stuck at home. It’s not bad—I kept to myself and stayed disciplined.
But now, instead of gaming late, I go out with my friends for dinner. I’ve always liked that, but now more of it gets seen on social media, and more cameras show up.
I want to enjoy life outside of Formula One, and I believe I have that right.
The next step is paparazzi waiting or following you. I drove to my friend’s house in London, and I knew someone was following me the whole time—40 minutes of just waiting to see who I’d meet and where I’d go.
That’s when I really started feeling more invaded—I can’t even leave my hotel or home without someone watching my every move.”
Lando, who recently won his first race of 2026 at the Hungarian Grand Prix, said his private life doesn’t feel private right now.
“It comes with being an F1 driver, but there should be limits. I won’t accept being followed like that,” he added.
Right now, Lando is enjoying a holiday with friends and family during the F1 summer break. He plans to play some golf and padel to “try to lose a bit of weight” before the Dutch Grand Prix next month.
He currently sits fifth in the standings, behind Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, and leader Kimi Antonelli.
