LeBron James’ agent shares big news amid rumors that his deal with the next team is already set

LeBron James’ agent recently spoke about the buzz around where the NBA star might go after leaving the LA Lakers. LeBron decided not to re-sign after the 2025-2026 season because he really wants to win his fifth NBA championship ring.

The Lakers are focusing on the future and haven’t won a championship since 2020. At 41, LeBron knows this and is ready to explore new opportunities. Several NBA teams are interested in signing him, including the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics.

On Thursday, American broadcaster Bill Simmons stirred things up by saying LeBron had agreed to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a third time. Being from Cleveland, LeBron was their first-round pick in 2003 and quickly showed he was destined for greatness before moving to the Miami Heat. He came back to Cleveland in 2014, helped win their first NBA Championship in 2016, and gave the city its first major sports title since 1964. He left for the Lakers in 2018.

This was a hot topic when Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent and CEO of Klutch Sports Group, chatted with Max Kellerman on the latest Game Over Podcast. When Kellerman asked for an update, Paul said, “There is none. I wish I knew. He’s taking his time, man, just figuring things out. I’ve given him space to relax, play golf, and do what he needs to do. He knows what’s going on and will tell me when he’s ready.”

Kellerman then mentioned that retired player Richard Jefferson said LeBron had shared his “whole plan” for the end of his career. Paul laughed and said, “If you know me and RJ, you know we’ve spent a lot of time together in Cleveland. I love RJ—he’s hilarious. But hearing him say that right after a trip made me laugh even more.”

LeBron isn’t rushing his decision, knowing this could be the last big contract of his amazing 20-year career. Plus, he has plenty of time since the NBA season doesn’t start again until October.
