Liam Rosenior sets off huge fight on the field right after Ligue 1 match, and the reason behind it comes out
Liam Rosenior has gotten off to a great start as the new manager of Paris FC, marking a fresh chapter after his tough time at Chelsea. His team is currently sitting third in Ligue 1, unbeaten so far with three wins and two draws in their five games.
In his latest match, Paris FC beat his former club Strasbourg 2-1 at home. But things got heated after the game when a big fight broke out on the pitch. After the win, Rosenior celebrated passionately towards the away fans, which included some arm waving and chest beating. This led to a reaction from Strasbourg’s players and a scuffle between both teams.
Rosenior had left Strasbourg last season to manage Chelsea, but there’s no hard feelings since both clubs are owned by the same group, BlueCo. Although his time at Chelsea was brief—just over three months—he’s now back in France, leading Paris FC since July.
After the clash, Rosenior explained his actions to Ligue 1 Plus. He said he’s always been respectful and wanted the best for Strasbourg, but some of the chants he heard crossed the line. “A small part of the supporters insulted my family,” he shared, which upset the team. His celebration was a way to send a message, though he didn’t want to say more about it.
Rosenior first made a name for himself in French football with Hull, almost getting them into the Championship playoffs in 2024. However, the club’s owner wasn’t happy, and he was let go. Then, in July 2025, he took over at Strasbourg, leading them to a seventh-place finish and UEFA Conference League qualification. After moving briefly to Chelsea in January 2026, he’s now back in France, enjoying success with Paris FC—still undefeated and in third place in Ligue 1.
