Liverpool is in a hurry to sign their top choice, using a new and surprising transfer strategy for the first time.

Liverpool are reportedly facing a unique transfer tactic from another club during talks about a summer signing. Since Andoni Iraola joined the club, Liverpool’s football team has been busy working on reshaping the squad for the new season.

Key players like Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konaté, and Andrew Robertson have already been confirmed to leave, while there’s still uncertainty about Curtis Jones, Federico Chiesa, and Cody Gakpo’s futures. Meanwhile, 20-year-old French defender Jérémy Jacquet will soon join the team after agreeing to a £60 million move back in February.

As expected, Liverpool is linked with several players from Iraola’s old club, Bournemouth, including Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi, Adrien Truffert, and Rayan. There’s also talk that Liverpool might re-sign Jarell Quansah, who has agreed personal terms after spending a year at Bayer Leverkusen.

RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is another big name linked with Liverpool, as the club wants to strengthen its left side this summer. Last week, The Athletic said Liverpool has already reached out about the Ivorian winger, who is under contract in Germany until 2030. However, Leipzig insists he’s not for sale unless they get an offer around £112 million.

Diomande is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and he’s even said that his dad supports the French club. When asked if he’d like to play for PSG, the 19-year-old said, “Yeah, I like them a lot.” Since then, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Leipzig’s asking price for Diomande has gone up.

“The price is now over €100 million (£86.3 million),” Jacobs said. “Leipzig is increasing it by about €1 million a day because they want to hear from Diomande first. Until they know if he will sign a new deal, they’re keeping the price very high to delay any transfer.”

Once Diomande decides to stay or leave, Leipzig will sort out his future. If he stays, the deal won’t happen; if he wants to leave, the price might come down.

Jacobs also mentioned PSG’s interest: “If Diomande goes to PSG, their player Bradley Barcola might become available. Barcola isn’t getting much playtime because of other stars in the team, so Liverpool could be interested in him too.”

Barcola is high on Liverpool’s list, but Diomande remains the top target. Liverpool is hopeful because the player seems interested, even though he recently talked about his love for PSG. For now, the race for Diomande is on between Liverpool and PSG.
