Liverpool start exciting talks to sign Kylian Mbappe for a huge fee as Real Madrid’s plans to let him go come out

Liverpool are reportedly interested again in Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe, as there are talks that he might leave the Bernabeu next year.

In just a few weeks, Mbappe will be eagerly waiting to see who wins the 2026 Ballon d’Or at the ceremony in London.

But that’s not the only reason he’s in the news. It looks like Mbappe could leave Real Madrid in 2027, and Liverpool are in talks to make a big move that could break Premier League transfer records.

Mbappe had a great World Cup with France this summer and is expected to be one of the top contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or. This season, he’s been on fire, scoring eight goals in eight games in La Liga and the Champions League.

Despite his success, Spanish journalist Francois Gallardo says Mbappe is “angry and disappointed” with Real Madrid and has decided to leave the club next summer. He tweeted: “Kylian Mbappé is angry and disappointed with Real Madrid. He has decided to leave in the summer of 2027, and Real Madrid won’t stop him. His next destination is the Premier League. Boom! And if not, prove me wrong.”

If Mbappe leaves, many clubs will want to sign him, but Gallardo says Liverpool are his top choice. The Frenchman nearly joined Liverpool back in 2016, and talks have reportedly been held with his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, recently.

It’s said that Mbappe’s mother has liked Liverpool since 2016, so it’s likely she’s Liverpool’s first contact as they try to bring him to Anfield.

However, signing Mbappe won’t be cheap. Even though Gallardo says Real Madrid won’t block his exit, reports say the club will only sell if they get a huge offer. Defensa Central mentioned the fee could be around €200-250 million (£174m–£218m).

With players like Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Cody Gakpo already at Liverpool, it’s a big ask to spend that much on one attacker. But when one of the best players in the world is available, any club would think twice about missing out — and it seems Liverpool are very interested.
