Louis Saha is now worth over £4 billion, and the reason has come out after the ex-Man Utd player appeared on Sky Sports.
Louis Saha’s company, AxisStars, is now worth an amazing $4.3 billion. He started it soon after he retired from football in 2013.
Saha, who is 48 now, won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester United between 2004 and 2008. He scored 42 goals in 124 games for the club. Today, he’s the founder of a company with over 500 sports and entertainment clients.
In a 2014 interview with The Guardian, shortly after launching AxisStars with entrepreneur Kate Hamer, Saha said, “I realized I really wanted to help young people.” His idea came after he got great feedback on his memoir, Thinking Inside the Box, which he published in 2012 about his life as a Premier League player.
Saha described AxisStars as “a virtual book” that helps young professionals start their careers in sports, entertainment, and more. He explained, “I thought about being an agent, a coach, or a consultant. But I wanted to reach more people, so I created a digital platform anyone could use.”
He shared an example: his agent once asked for advice about bringing a talented French footballer to England. Saha connected him with people he knew, and that player could join AxisStars to find personal coaches nearby. “I feel more excited as an entrepreneur than I did on the field,” he said.
Even though Cristiano Ronaldo’s net worth is around $1-1.4 billion, Saha’s company is valued much higher. AxisStars includes well-known members like ex-Premier League player Dimitar Berbatov, British Olympic medalist Desiree Henry, and England cricketer Chris Jordan.
Berbatov said in a video for the company, “[AxisStars] brings like-minded people together. It creates opportunities where you learn, make friends, and have fun.”
The company earns money by charging ‘Partners’ a membership fee to join and post their opportunities. The members, called ‘Stars,’ include athletes, musicians, and actors. AxisStars does not take a commission when matching members with businesses.
Saha said back in 2014, “It’s a tough process, but it’s so rewarding. Helping 100,000 people would be the best thing I’ve ever done. Playing football gave me excitement, but did I create something that lasts? I’m not sure.”
He believes AxisStars will last because young people, and maybe even his own kids if they go pro, will use it. He hopes players realize they can support those close to them too. “Being a family member of a star is difficult because you get dragged into things you never expected,” he added.
At that time, Saha also mentioned plans to ghostwrite his former teammate Patrice Evra’s autobiography and make an animated film.
