Man City insider speaks out against Gianni Infantino with shocking new claim about another Man City money issue

Football whistleblower Rui Pinto has spoken out strongly against FIFA boss Gianni Infantino, accusing him of being involved in another financial scandal with Manchester City.

About eight years ago, Pinto shared secret club documents on his website, Football Leaks, which later led to the Premier League charging Manchester City with financial rule-breaking. Now, after Manchester City was found guilty, Pinto has shifted his focus onto Infantino. He says Infantino, while working as UEFA general secretary, helped both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) avoid punishments from UEFA.

It’s been a challenging year for Infantino, with troubles surrounding the 2026 World Cup and a controversial plan that sparked protests worldwide. Recently, many have called for him to step down, even though he plans to run for re-election as FIFA president in the vote due next February.

Pinto has doubled down on his claims in a recent social media post. He said that back in 2014, Infantino knew about the problems with Manchester City but used his power to limit the punishment to just a fine, preventing a deeper investigation that might have banned the club from the Champions League. Pinto also accused Infantino of helping PSG in the same way, based on similar financial tricks both clubs allegedly used to bypass rules. Pinto called Infantino a “cancer on football” and said he shouldn’t be part of the game’s future.

As the FIFA presidential vote nears, this kind of bad press is the last thing Infantino needs. Multiple national football associations, including England’s, have already said they won’t support him. In a major blow, Switzerland’s Football Association—the country where Infantino is from—recently said it can’t support him due to concerns about leadership, transparency, and decision-making in FIFA. They felt Infantino didn’t clearly explain FIFA’s role after promising reforms following backlash to his sell-off plan.

With the election coming up, all eyes are on Infantino and whether he can overcome these serious accusations and regain trust in the football world.
