Man City ready to make official offer as surprising £140 million transfer news breaks

But things are about to change. City agreed to an £85 million deal to sign Morocco’s rising star Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille. And that’s not all — Romano shared that City will soon send an official bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez, who came off the bench in Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday and was booed by the fans, is reportedly keen on joining City to work under Enzo Maresca again. He’s said to be very open to the move and has given it the green light.
Romano says the deal is “absolutely on,” but Chelsea will only agree depending on the fee and if they can find a good replacement. Apparently, Chelsea has a four-player shortlist ready to fill his spot.
Chelsea want £120 million for Fernandez, setting a deadline for clubs like City who are still working on a deal. Argentine journalist Gaston Edul added that City may offer a massive £130-140 million bid — which would break Premier League records, beating Alexander Isak’s transfer to Liverpool last season.
Xabi Alonso, asked about Fernandez’s future after the Fulham win, said on BBC Radio 5 Live, “In football, I am not surprised by anything. We will see. I hope we know what happens soon, but we’ll find out this week.”
This big potential signing comes right after City made a historic sale. Winger Savinho, now just ‘Savio’ after a name change, has moved to Spurs for £85 million, becoming City’s record sale and beating the previous £81 million fee when Julian Alvarez left for Atletico Madrid.
Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi is excited about the signing, saying Savinho brings “energy, imagination, and quality” to his team.
