Man City star Rayan Cherki had a priceless reaction to the surprising ‘demotion’ in EA Sports FC 27
Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki was pretty surprised to hear he didn’t get five-star skills in the new EA Sports FC 27 game.
Cherki has had an amazing start to the new Premier League season, scoring two goals and adding two assists in just three games for Enzo Maresca’s team. In fact, in his first season at City, only Bruno Fernandes had more assists in the Premier League.
Thanks to his great form, Cherki’s overall rating in the game has gone up to 86. But the French star wasn’t too happy about some of the numbers on his player card. He agreed that his speed felt right but thought his shooting should be better. He was also not happy that his physical score was only 67.
The thing that really surprised him was finding out he had four-star skills in the game, instead of the perfect five-star rating he had last year. His teammates Marc Guehi and Elliot Anderson couldn’t believe it either. Cherki even said, “I have four?! Nah! Is this for real?” Anderson asked, “So he lost a star?”
When told to share his frustration with EA, Cherki promised, “I will show them this year.” But it was all a prank! The presenter FG revealed that Cherki actually has five-star skills and a five-star weak foot in the game.
In EA FC 27, Cherki is the fourth-highest rated City player. Haaland leads with a 91 rating, followed by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at 89, and captain Ruben Dias with 87.
Because he wasn’t fully fit after the Community Shield, Cherki started the season on the bench in the opening match against Bournemouth. When City was down 1-0, he came on and made a big impact, assisting two goals as City came back to win.
Cherki then scored two goals in a stunning 4-1 win at Crystal Palace, sharing that he almost got substituted but told Maresca to let him stay on.
Right now, Cherki is one of the best players in the Premier League. WhoScored even rates him as their highest-rated player so far this season, with an 8.02 score—beating stars like Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, and others.
